Changes

I decided today to take a big step. If all goes well, I will be in nursing school by the end of the month.

I have avoided getting serious about a career for many years. I didn’t want to grow up. I have been comfortable managing beer and wine stores and being taken advantage of by my boss. I am burnt out now. And I do not want to be involved when he gets in trouble for avoiding paying taxes and other things he does. I make less than $2.00 above minimum wage for being a General Manager. He refuses to give me a raise and I accepted it. I have no benefits and am lucky to have government health insurance.

Anyway, I hope everything turns out right. I am crossing my fingers, toes and eyes.

  1. Good for you! Sometime we make decisions because we are pushed in to it, however, the rewards are sweeter if we make them of our own accord. My daughter started a university course in September last year to become a mid-wife. She is only 18, however, the course is made up of ladies of all ages. It’s never too late to try on a new uniform!! Good luck.
